Martha, known as Patsey, Connell was the daughter of Angel and Martha/Mattie Fleming Connell of Greenbrier County VA/WV. She was born about 1804 in Kentucky. Her parents died in Madison Co KY, Angel in 1805 and Martha about 1812. Martha married Abraham Hornback 28 May 1822 in Champaign Co OH. Children: Jeremiah, George, William, Nancy, John, Mary A. On the 1850 census they are living in Carroll Co IN. (Probable on 1830 and 1840 census.) By 1860 they appear in Madison Co, Iowa living with daughter Nancy and husband Derrick Bennett where they apparently lived until their deaths.
Martha's siblings were Polly (Robert Burk), Betsey (Andrew McDaniel), William (Ruth Terrel), Nancy (John Kirkwood), James (Ann McMahan and Margaret Weddle), Pierce (Cynthia Steely and Sarah Ann Lawrence), Eppy (Matthew Terrel), Jane, and John (Francis Pennington).
