Patrick Smith was a carpenter at the time of his daughter's marriage in 1923. He lived in 3 Allingham Street at that time.

I have checked the census records for 1901 and 1911 for the smith family and have been unable to find them.

So from Helen Smith's birth registration I can see that they lived in 3 Martins Terrace in 1905, (which is known as Hanover Street East).

I have found from the Electoral registers that her Mother and Father lived in Allingham Street for a number of years with Esther, but I will have to follow up on dates etc.

Patrick died in 1942 in Meath Street Hospital, he died from a heart attack at the age of 65. His Address at the time of his death was 3 Allingham Buildings. And his occupation is listed as being a carpenter. I have found the registration of his death in the Mt Jerome records. his registration number is 364, and place of death: Meath Hospital. he was the only Patrick Smyth buried that year, so I am assuming it is him.
