Morrow Connections

In 1860, 21-year-old Patrick is living with Sarah Morrow, age 75. Sarah is listed as 77 in 1870 and is living with Stephen W. Morrow (son of George Morrow and Elizabeth Powers) and his wife Martha, whose maiden name was also Morrow. Since Stephen's mother is accounted for, it seems likely that Sarah was Martha's mother and likely mother (or possibly grandmother) of Patrick.

Patrick remains associated with members of Stephen's family--he lives next door to George W. in 1880 (son of Stephen), and his son William married Rebecca Ballard, Stephen's niece. In 1870, he is living next door to Joseph M. Morrow, another brother of Stephen's.

In 2012, a descendant of Patrick tested his YDNA, and matched descendants of Stephen W. Morrow (son of George Morrow and Elizabeth Powers) at 37/37 markers, which suggests over a 98% chance of a common male ancestor in the last 8 generations (the participants are 3-5 generations removed from Patrick's generation).

In addition, Patrick's like matches 67/67 (none of Stephen's descendants tested 67 markers) with two other Morrow lines:

Patrick is also long connected with another Robert, Robert W. Morrow, b. abt 1817 North Carolina. Robert is the right age to be a brother, but does not appear to have been conclusively identified by anyone online. He has a younger wife Jane, age 37, and a 6-year-old son Robert in 1870, and is probably the Robert 2 doors down from Patrick in 1860 (in Granite Hill, Iredell County) with four children, John, Martha, Mary and George, and no wife. Robert W. Morrow bought or got land from Patrick Morrow in 1886.
