Patrick William Maxwell d. 10may1917 at Dublin aged 61. He was of an old Scottish family, b. Glasgow, M.D. 1855, studied in London and Vienna, settled in Dublin and became surgeon to National Eye and Ear Hospital. His son was killed 1916, He was survived by 3 daughters (web). In 1881 Patrick W. Maxwell (1856, Glasgow, medical professor, Edinburgh University) lodged at Edinburgh (census). From census 1911: Patrick Maxwell, head (b.1856 Scotland, oculist, MD, Edinburgh, FRC**), wife Elizabeth (b.1858 England, marr 15 yrs, 4 living children), daughter Constantia Maxwell (b.1886 Dublin City, Lecturer History, TCD, BA, single), mother in law Elizabeth Suckling (b. 1837 England, widow) lived at 19 Baggor St., Lower, South Docks, Dublin in a house with 11 rooms.
