Services Held For Parks Rittenhouse Funeral services for Parks Williams Rittenhouse, 58, were held Tues. afternoon, April 30, at 2:00 at the Pilgrim United Methodist Church, with Rev. J.W. Petersen officiating. The body lay in state at the church from 1:00 o'clock until the time of services. Burial was in the Monona City Cemetery. Mr. Rittenhouse died at the Community Memorial Hospital in Postville Sun., April 28, following a ten day illness. As Parks Williams, he was born the son of Harley S. & Verna, nee Parks, Rittenhouse, Sept. 3, 1909, at Monona, Iowa. He was graduated from Monona High School & Coe College in Cedar Rapids. He was a member of the Pilgrim United Methodist Church & he was a Mason. He taught in the Spencer, Ellwood, Cresco & Marquette schools & at Melbourne, Fla. Surviving is one daughter, Mrs. Paul (Roberta) Johnstone of Cedar Rapids; a brother Kelley of Monona; three sisters, Mrs. Fred (Jane) Rosencrans & Mrs. E.F. (Grace) Girot of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Mrs. Vince (Virginia) Nekvinda of Cedar Rapids; and five grandchildren. Masonic services were held Mon., April 29, at 8:00 pm at Schultz's Funeral Home. Music at the services at the church on Tues. was provided by a quartet composed of Harlan Hass, Mrs. Wallace Marting & Marjorie & David Schlitter. Mrs. Justus Kammerer was organist. Pallbearers were: Harvey Debes, Elmer Drahn, Donald Huniker, Myron Ihde, Kermit Klinge, James Montgomery, James Peters & Leo Steiert. Image Gallery
