Court papers for William Mummert son of Dietrick. First a little background, Christian Swobenland married Pakey Mummert daughter of William as stated in William's Will written in 1797. There is no indication that Pakey was deceased when the will was written. Her name is spelled Pakey not Parkay in the will. She must have died after 1799 when her youngest child was born and before this 1807 guardian request:I the Subscriber Do hereby Pray the Court to appoint Mathis Mummert guardian of my children, to wit, Elizabeth Swobenland edged 12 years, Jacob Swobenland edged 10 years - Mary Swobenland 8 years - all Heirs and grand Children of William Mummert Deceased - by so doing the court will oblige their humble servant.Christian (his X mark) SwobenlandSept. 7 - 1807Wit.
