"Owden was agent for the Internal Revenue Service until his retirement in 1968. He is an accountant and graduate of Tyler High School, Tyler Junior College and Southern Methodist University. During his career with the I.R.S., he was president of the National Association of Internal Revenue Service Employees, 1957 - 1958. Owden was a member of the first graduating class of Tyler Junior College. He also was a member of Bullard Cemetery Association since its inception and member of Young Democrats Club in the '20s and early '30s. He served as a chief petty officer in the U. S.
