Facts and Events
Otto Carl von Mylius was an officer in the Danish service. In 1742 he joined the Jutlandish enlisting regiment in Colonel von Nissen's company and later served in the troops of Count Friedrich Ernst of Brandenburg. He was promoted (through the efforts of his mother who was the widow of an officer) in 1756 by the King of Denmark and eventually became a first lieutenant. When he was 55 he was honorably discharged from duty. References
