Child Fatally Burned Early This Morning
Otho, the 2-year-old child of Mr. and Mrs. Robert McCoy of Middlebourne, was fatally burned this morning at 8 o'clock. The deplorable accident occurred during the absence of the parents from their home, the mother having left the house for a few minutes to get a pail of water. The child was left in the sitting room downstairs, but while its mother was out it went upstairs to a bedroom, in which there was a lighted gas stove, and in some unknown manner its clothing became ignited. When found by the mother the clothing was entirely burned off the child and its little body was terribly charred. The attending physicians have no hopes of saving its life. The heart-broken parents have the sympathy of the entire community in the sad misfortune to their bright and darling child.
