Person:Otto Hofstra (1)

Son of Wiebe Alles Hofstra and Geertje Jacobs Bruinsma, immigrated to America in 1925. Married Klaaske "Clare" Roode. They had no children. Memory from one of the nephews: He was an avid collector of clocks. He went to every white elephant sales and bought clocks. You would not believe the number or different sizes that this uncle had. I remember there were 13 clocks on the kitchen walls alone. I once counted 80 clocks in either the living room or the dining room. And my mom made me stop counting. She thought it was an embarrassing thing to do. My folks always joked how hard it was to sleep there because there was always a clock sounding off.
