letter 2/2001 Alyce Kingcaid-They met and married in Koblenz, Germany. My dad was still in the U.S. army(WWI) and was stationed for 2 yrs sith "Army of Occupation" after the war ended in France. Her mother met dad first and introduced them. They were married first by the US Gov and then by her Catholic church Aug 15, 1920. They left Germany and traveled to France were they boarded ship for home. They came to the US to Ellis Island, near New York City. She bought her first camera in NY City and took pictures all her life. The camera was expensive, it cost $1.00 and my daughter has it now. (It was our family joke that $1.00) They came by US Troop ship. The brides were on one deck and the soldiers another deck. After NY city they came to TX.
