Facts and Events
Orson is in his father’s household, unmarried age 23, in 1850. There is also a marriage record for 1842 in Marshall County, which would would fit with his son William H., age 17, in his household in 1860. It appears based on census records that Elizabeth left, remarried to Richard Brown in 1848 in Yalubusa, MS (over 200 miles away), had one or two children, then moved back. In 1880, they are listed separately again, even though her Brown children are in his household. Edwin, Martha, and Elizabeth (b 1849-1853 and listed as Morrows in 1860) are children of Richard Brown based on Edwin’s marriage record and the 1880 census, where they list their father as born in Tennessee). John and James (b. 1855-1857) are ambiguous and have not been found in later censuses to provide further information. Window Elizabeth A. filed for a pension 30 June 1890. A bill was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives in February 1891 seeking to remove charges of desertion from the record of Orson H. Morrow, deceased. No further information is noted.
