Oliver Lurton Clay was born on 13 November 1909 in Denver, Colorado. His wife was named Zelma. They had no children. Oliver died in 1992 in Tallahassee, Florida. Obituary from Dseseret News of 6-Dec-1992:

Oliver L. Clay, age 83, former resident of Price, Utah, died December 5, 1992 in Tallahassee, Florida.

     He was Director of Legal Affairs, Veterans Administration, employed by the federal government for 30 years. Mr. Clay attended the University of Utah and graduated there in 1932. He then continued his education by attending the University of Michigan and George Washington, where he obtained his law degree. While at the University of Utah, he was actively involved in the debate and theatre groups. He served the United States during World War II, the US Navy and was involved in the Pacific Theater during that time. Upon his honorable discharge from the Navy, he held the rank of Lt. Commander. On December 24, 1936 he married Zelma Chamness and many years later they celebrated their 55th Wedding Anniversary. Mr. Clay was a member of the Elks Club #937, and of the Capitol City Country Club. He is preceded in death by his wife.Survived by brother, Ross C. Clay, of Salt Lake; sister, Marion Harrington, Carson City, Nevada; and several nieces and nephews.
     Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 8, 1992, 1 p.m. at Culley's Riggins Road Chapel, Tallahassee, Florida. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Senior Society Planning Council, Tallahassee, Florida, or the American Heart Association.
