Facts and Events
On the 1892 New York State Census 'Ollie' was listed as an artist. She was single. She was listed as Miss Olive B. Jackson in her sister, Louise's 1930 obituary. Notes from Dr. Troha: Olive B. Jackson-24048, was listed in a 1902 book as the secretary of the local “Woman’s Board of Missions”, a religious organization that still exists today [she would have been nearly forty years of age at this time]: “Thirty-Fifth Annual Report of the Woman’s Board of Missions, Presented at Its Annual Meeting in Washington, D. C., November 5 and 6, 1902”, published by The Woman’s Board of Missions, printed by Frank Wood, Printer, Boston (1902) Page 122: “JAMESTOWN : Mrs. A. L. Smalley, 316 East Fourth Street, Pres.; Mrs. S. A. Baldwin, 608 Pendergrast Avenue, Vice Pres.; Miss Olive B. Jackson, Lakewood Road, Sec’y; Mrs. C. M. Brown, Lake View Avenue, Treas.; membership, 50.” Note that she is listed as living on the same road as that cited in her sister’s [Louise 1930] obituary. I found additional references to an “Olive B. Jackson” who donated money to various charitable causes in New York State in 1907 and 1909, but there was no definitive evidence that this was her and not a namesake. References
