In the History of Jackson Co, MI is a biography of Noris and Edmund's father, Thomas Bott.

Thomas was born in England in 1828 and married Louisa Foster [born Vermont] in 1854. Their children were Edward J. (Edmund?), Benjamin F., Norris J., Elizabeth H., and William. Thomas and Louisa are alive and living in Stockbridge for the 1900 census.

At one time I found evidence that Norris and Eva had a boy named Clarence. On the 1900 census for Stockbridge Village is a listing for a Clarence Nott (124,125 page 143) who would be a contemporary of Norris'. I do not know without further research if this Clarence is the same man attributed as a member of Norris' family, which would have made the addition of Clarence an error.

A Clarence A. Bott was living in Henrietta, Jackson County in 1930. He was born 28 May 1892 and died Sep 1962 in Michigan.

The Stockbridge Brief for 29 January 1914 said that Norris Bott was in Mason on jury duty.

Norris seems to have been wed to a Maggie (Margaret Augusta Hooper) - I would guess he and Eva were divorced.

Hotdogs have been around since the 1860s, when German immigrants began selling sausages from carts in New York City. What made their sausages different was that they were inside a milk bun with sauerkraut on top. That made them easier to carry and eat on the street, plus provided a way to keep things like mustard and relish from sliding off the sausage. They were popularized by butcher Charles Feltman when he began selling them at Coney Island, giving birth to the famous Coney Island hot dog. Sausages, the original inside of a hot dog, have been around even longer. Homer wrote about them in The Odyssey in 9th Century B.C.
