Norman Alexander McRae (died at the age of 48) was the caretaker at the Horsham Town Hall for many years. He came to Horsham in about 1938 where he worked in a transport company before taking the position at the Town Hall. Edith Victoria Gladys McRae, known as Vicki, died in 1994. Vicki was born at Baarmutha and spent her younger days at Beechworth before marrying Norman Alexander McRae. The couple lived at Geelong, Seymour, Beechworth, and Rainbow before settling in Horsham around 1943. Norman McRae worked as the Town Hall Keeper and Vicki was his Assistant and she kept working there for many years after his death. Vicki enjoyed playing carpet bowls and had won many trophies. She was a life member of the Horsham Senior Citizens Club and a member of the Combined Pensioners, Civilian Widows, and Salvation Army Home League. She enjoyed gardening and craftwork. |
