Norma T. Estes , 78, of Falmouth Road died May 5, 2001, at Maine Medical Center. She was born in Penobscot, a daughter of George and Lora Leach Wardwell. She graduated from Islesboro High School in 1940. She was postmaster in Islesboro in the 1970s. She owned the Three Star Motel in Scarborough for nine years. She enjoyed bingo and riding on the Scotia Prince. A grandson died previously. Her companion of 20 years was James Vaughan of Windham. Surviving are a son, Stephen V. Durkee of Windham; a daughter, Pamela D. Donaldson of Windham; two sisters, Patricia Hannan of Port Ludlow, Wash., and Louise Dyer of Windham ; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A visiting hour will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. at Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Road, Windham.
