Norma Lee Bamford Blank 63 of Indianapolis, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2006. She was born February 2, 1943 in Indianapolis to Norman and Awilda Miller Bamford. She graduated from Ben Davis High School in 1961 and attended Indiana University. On August 31, 1962, she married Scott Blank in Indianapolis. Norma was a devoted mother, wife and homemaker. She worked for twenty years in Wayne Township at McClelland and Garden City Schools as a reading paraprofessional, retiring in 2000. She liked to travel, and especially loved to hike in the mountains in Colorado. She always had her camera handy and took many, many pictures. Mrs. Blank was a member of Mount Olive United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the English handbell choir and had always been active in many children-related activities. She is survived by husband, Scott Blank; sons: Douglas (Laura) Blank of Havertown, PA and David (Julia) Blank of Indianapolis; daughter, Laura Blank of Noblesville, IN; grandchildren: Thaddeus, Stephanie, Stuart, Duncan and Liam Blank; mother, Awilda Bamford; sister, Nancy (Marvin) Garrett of Hilliard, OH; mother-in-law, Mildred Blank; and many loving sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and nieces and nephews. Norma was preceded in death by her father, Norman Bamford; and brother, Stephen Bamford. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 8, 2006 at Mount Olive United Methodist Church, 1449 South High School Road, with calling there one hour prior to service and 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 7, 2006 at Conkle Funeral Home, Speedway Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mount Olive United Methodist Church.
