Awilda K. Bamford 88, passed away May 20, 2006 at St. Vincent's Carmel Hospital in the ICU. She was the middle child of 5 children, and was born May 24, 1918, in Eldorado, IL. to the late Orville E. Miller and Katherine L. (Wheeldon). She was a former member of the Mt. Olive Methodist Church. She spent most of her life taking care of terminally ill children in her home, which she turned into a nursery. Surviving her is one daughter, Nancy (Marvin) Garrett; two sisters, Betty J. (Boris) Chaleff of Indianapolis and Ruth (Sam) Saso of Granda Hill, Ca.; ten grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Norman T. Bamford; son Stephen E. Bamford and, recently, daughter Norma L. (Scott) Blank. Services will be held at the Crown Hill Cemetery, Mausoleums Chapel on May 24, 2006 at 2:30 p.m., with visitation a half hour prior to services. Contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Carmel Care Porch Pavilion, co Jack Taylor. Arrangements are being handled by Bell Mortuary and Crematory, Royster-Askin-Sandrock Chapel, Indianapolis.
