LANG, NORBERT J

Norbert J "Norbie" Lang, 85, of 511 Clay St, Carey, died at 1:05 p.m. Frid ay, April 26, 2002, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.

He was born Sept. 4, 1916, in New Reigel to Anton and Theresa (Filliate r) Lang. He married Shirley M Harrold on Dec. 2, 1950, at Basilica of O ur Lady of Consolation, Carey, and she survives.

Also surviving are four sons, Michael R and Frederick J, both of Carey; Da vid E of Findlay; and Timothy E of Roseville, Calif.; three grandchildre n; four brothers, Gilbert of Fostoria; Alvin of Bascom; and Robert and Wil bur, both of Tiffin; and four sisters, Helen Fleck, Hollywood, Fla.; Pauli ne Lang, Marion; Margaret Elchert, New Reigel; and Donna Newlove, Fostoria .

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and an infant brother.

Mr. Lang retired in 1987 from Atlas Inc, Fostoria, after 22 years.

He was a U.S Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater.

He was a 1934 graduate of St. Wendelin High School, Fostoria.

He was a member of Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation and Earl Green Amer ican Legion Post 344, both in Carey.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at the chu rch, the Rev. Regis Schlagheck, OFM Conv, officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemeter y, Carey, with military rites.

Visitation will be held from 2-9 p.m. Sunday at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral H ome, Carey, where a Christian wake service will be held at 8:30 p.m.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice in care of the fu neral home, 225 W Findlay St, Carey 43316-1169..
