Hi Cousin!

Although Noel Knight is descended from Jonathan Knight, he is not a child, rather a great grandchild. The line is: Richard Knight>Jonathan Knight>Captain Robert Knight>Captain Edward Knight>Noel Knight. Richard Knight married Sarah Rogers, Jonathan Knight married Rebecca (Hannah) Bennett, Capt. Robert Knight married Mary Potter, Capt. Edward Knight married Patience Gorton, Noel married Martha White, daughter of Adams White and Hannah Capron. According to family Bible information, Noel Knight was born Dec. 2, 1769 and died Feb. 7, 1833. He lived in New Woodstock, Madison County, NY. Just wondering how exactly you are descended from Jonathan Knight. Please let me know!

"Descendants of Richard Knight (Jonathan) Vol II" by Helen C. Cooper, page 30. "(Under listing for Capt. Edward KNIGHT): iii. Noel. Born 2 DEC 1769. Died, 7 FEB 1833, in NY (lived in Pomfret, CT & Woodstock, NY). He married Martha WHITE."."

Helen Cooper - published KNIGHT genealogist., (Internet message). ""According to my information, Noel Knight was a son of Capt. Edward Knight , Rev. Sol. Edward was the son of Robert Knight & Mary Potter of RI. Edward's children: Amy b. 1762, d. 7 Sep 1848 md Jeremiah Williams Anna V b. 5 Jun 1764, d. 7 Jun 1856, md General Stephen Williams Noel, b. 2 Dec 1769, d. 7 Feb 1833 md Martha White Helen C"."

"Names and Sketches of the Pioneer Families, Madison Co., NY., William H. Tuttle: "Charles On 1800 Hamilton Census, b. 2 Dec 1769, d 7 Feb 1833" (Same dates as Noel. So, possibly went by name "Charles"). Also, there is a reference to "Noel Knight" on the Cazenovia Census 1800, b. 2 Dec 1769, d 7 Feb 1833 (note from Helen C. Cooper - "Looks like a typo or some kind of error, see Charles"). (Very unlikely to be enumerated twice under different names - cgk).

CENSUS: Noel shows up in the 1800 and 1810 censuses of Cazenovia, Madison, New York. He was listed in the "Cazenovia Assessment Roll" in 1812 ($7 Real Estate, $.02 tax) Noel Knight and his family are included in the book titled "Pioneers Of Madison County" by Tuttle, p. 41

In the 1830 census Noel was then living with his son William Knight

BIRTH: Ralph Knight's Family Bible. ""Noel Knight was born Dec 2 1769 Died February 7th 1833 in his 64th year"."
