It is assumed that Nicholas III was born in Pennsylvania & was brought by his parents to Virginia when he was a lad. It is also assumed that he met & married Elizabeth Benner in Virginia.

     The following are deeds on file at Jefferson  CO Court House at Charles Town, West Virginia:
    
    12-8-1799 - Nicholas Schall & Margaret, his, to Nicholas Shaull for 72 acres.
      2-8-1800 - to Nicholas Shaull for a lot in Middleway, West Virginia.
    7-20-1811 - Nicholas Shall From Solomon Barick & Jane his wife, by will of Janes's father, will dated 9-10-1805, Nicholas Shall, Jr.
    1-31-1799 - to members of the Dutch Evangelical Lutheran Church to Michael Pulse & Nicholas Shaull, managers & trustees of said church for a lot in Middleway, West Virginia.
      3-9-1822 - Shows that Nicholas & Elizabeth Shaull conveyed their land to Conrad Kownslar, This establishes the date they were getting ready to move to Seneca  CO, OH, where land had been opened for settlement in 1822.
     Nicholas Schall III did not have a will, but an administration dated  8/15/1848 with John A. Rosenberger, his son-in-law, & David Schall, his son, as Admins. in  Tiffin, OH, Court House. The following are deeds, etc. showing the disposal        of Nicholas Schall III's property in Seneca  CO, OH:           
    Deed - 2/16/1843, Vol. 13, P.354 from the Nicholas Schall  III heirs: John Schall & Sarah, his wife; John A. Rosenberger & Catherine, his wife; David Schall & Jane, his wife; Bartholomew Shaull & Rebecca, his wife; Henry Rosenberger & Jane, his wife; Jacob Schaull & Susanna, his wife; Michael Schaull & Eleanor, his wife; Nicholas Schaull & Elizabeth, his wife; this was for a piece of ground in E 1/2 SW 1/4 Sec. 31, to be used for a burial ground, no doubt the Fravel Cemetery where Nicholas Schall III & his wife are buried.
   
   Deed - 2/22/1849, Vol. 21, p.273, this lists the same heirs as above, but it   goes further & lists Mary Pultz & David Rosenberger & Elizabeth, his wife. This deed was to Peter Adelsperger for W 1/2  of SE 1/4 Sec. 31, & E 1/2 of the SW 1/4 See. 31, excepting the place sold for burying ground.
   Receipt - the estate of Nickolas Shaull to W. Campbell for 7/10/1848, for coffin  for Elizabeth Shaull, widow of said Nickolas Shaull - $10.00 rec'd. payment in full 12/9/1848, signed - W. Campbell.          
   Rec'd. of John A. Rosenberger - $10.00 in full for coffin for Elizabeth Shaull,      dec'd. 12/9/1648, signed - Wm. Campbell.           
   Receipt from Michael Shawl - 9/25/1850 - $39.24 his share of personal property.
   Receipt from Jacob (X-his mark) Schall for $39.24, his share of personal property, dated 11/21/1850.           
   Receipt from Bartholomew Schall - 10/22/1850. Amount of money at final settlement - $392.49.          
   Receipt - David Schall, Admin., paid Catherine Schall $10.00, having paid her at different time - $34-00- (Total $44-00 - 2/26/1849.) Another receipt from           Catherine (X-her mark) Schall - $101.25 for her share of estate paid at different     times.           
   Estate of Nicholas Schall to Catherine Schall for four years work at $52.00 per  year, 1 years work at $70.00 Per Year, with credits at various times. Labor was    performed between 1843 & 7/10/1848.
   Tax receipt from Seneca Co. Treas. 12/9/1848, for 1848 taxes - $22-35, from     Elizabeth Shaull.           
   Deed Book 13, P.354 - $1.00 Deed of Trust, from heirs for tract for burial ground to Jacob Blue, Levi Shedenhelm & John Schall, 2nd Trustees. Signed by widow Elizabeth (X-her mark) Schall & heirs. Measurement began at a stone on line between Clinton & Pleasant twps.
   Vol. 14, P.260 - 12/16/1842    Nicholas Schall to John Zeigler for $1,800.00.          
    Vol. 20, p.407 - 2/22/1849 -   Deed by heirs to Josiah Baker for 80 acres, $1,000.00 Mary Pultz, Nicholas & David Rosenberger of Jefferson Co., W.Va., Jacob of Williams Co., OH, John & Henry Rosenberger, Nicholas, Bartholomew, Daniel, John A. Rosenberger of Seneca Co., OH, 80 acres, part of real estate of  Nickolaus Schall.
