Joined in a petition with his father to settle Monomoy (Chatham), but ended up not moving there. His father deeded generous parcels of land to all the rest of his children except Nicholas.

A child of Nicholas having died, a jury of inquest Oct. 14, 1667, found that it was "strangled by a pumpkin seed".
