The Lenz Family - George and Valentine Lenz, brothers, came from Hess Darmstdat aboard ship Palentine to New York in May 1857. George settled at Buffalo Prairie, Illinois; Valentine in Johnson County, Iowa. George’s son Nicholas, 11 in 1857, married Cynthia Strubble in Illinois, where they farmed at Buffalo Prairie. Nicholas, Cynthia and family later went to Maryville, Missouri, bought land, farmed. Nicholas died of heat stroke about 1895.
