Daily Times-News, The Monday, December 31, 1973 Mrs.. Nellie CURTIS Newland, 55, of Greensboro died Sunday at a.m. in a Greensboro hospital following a lengthy illness. A native of Alamance county, she was the daughter of Mrs.. Margaret Griffin CURTIS, who survives of Rt. 1. Graham, and the late WILLIAM OSCAR CURTIS. She was employed as a beautician at Marie's Beauty Salon in Greensboro and was a member of Magnolia Street Baptist Church in Greensboro. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her brothers. George E. CURTIS, LaBelle, Fla., O.D. and Marvin CURTIS, both of Rt. 1. Graham, James E. Curtis, Burlington; sisters. Mrs.. Lucy C. Barber, Gibsonville, sisters. Evelyn C. Sterzbach, Graham, Mrs.. Josephine C. Clapp, Burlington. Final rites will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Magnolia Street Baptist Church in Greensboro. The Rev. Jack Roe. pastor, the Rev. Max Allman. pastor of People's Memorial Christian Church in Burlington, and the Rev. Robert Witter, pastor of Bible Wesleyan Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Bethlehem Wesleyan Church cemetery in Snow Camp. The body will remain at McClure Funeral Home in Graham until taken to the church one hour prior to the service. The family will be at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m., and at other times at the home of her mother. References
