Daily Times-News, The Wednesday, March 01, 1972 Mr. and Mrs.. Barney Foster of Alamance were honored on their 25th wedding anniversary with a reception Sunday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs.. Willis Coble. Hosts for the occasion were the couple's children, Mrs.. Willis Coble, Mrs.. Glen Matthews Miss Angle Foster and Keith Foster. Guests were greeted by Mr. and Mrs.. GROVER DAVIS and directed to the receiving line. A pink and rose color scheme was used throughout the home. The reception table was covered with a white organza cloth overlaid with pink net and centered with a silver candelabrum holding pink tapers, tuberoses, mums and babies'-breath. Silver appointments held open-faced sandwiches, peanuts, anniversary cake and pink punch. Assisting in serving were Mrs.. Ruby Pentecost, Mrs.. Clayton Sharpe, Mrs.. Clyde Pike and Mrs.. Jack May. Gordon Pike and Glenn Matthews were at the gift table, which was covered with a white organza cloth overlaid with lace. Mrs.. Bobby Pickard pre- sided at the guest register, which featured silver bells and lily of the valley. Goodbyes were said to Willis Coble. Approximately 100 guests called during the hours of 3 and 5 o'clock. August 12 ALAMANCE — Mrs. Nell May Foster, 78, of 4250 N.C. 62 S., passed away at 4:20 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2007, at the Alamance Regional Medical Center. A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Barnabas “Barney” Foster and the daughter of the late C. Everett May and the late Mattie S. May. She was a homemaker and a member of New Covenant Fellowship Church. She is survived by three daughters, Linda F. Coble and her husband Jerry, Cynthia F. May, and Angie F. Pike and her husband Gordon, all of Burlington; one son, B. Keith Foster of the home; one sister, Doris M. Davis and her husband Grover of Graham; and three grandchildren, Rodney G. Matthews, Sherry M. Yow and her husband Chris, and Nathan C. Pike. Other than her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, L. Richard May and Cecil R. May; and one sister, Ruth M. Sharpe. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007, at the New Covenant Fellowship Church by the Rev. David Neff. The burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 to 8 this evening. At other times they will be at the residence of her daughter, Linda Coble, 433 Devonshire Lane, Burlington.
