Neil was very much a homebody and enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to garden and got a certain amount of pride out of having a nice...well ordered and square...garden patch. His composting prowess was legendary. Neil always lived at home with Aunt Catherine and Uncle Jim and. as kids, Karyn and I would go spend time with Debbie and Wendy. On one of our trips, Neil conned the four of us into catching baby pigs so that he could give them their needles. We managed to catch them all and get them needled before lunch. For lunch, Aunt Catherine did the traditional farm thing....potatoes veggie ...and ham. Neil took one look at the spread and said..hmm guess one didn't make it this morning. It was the ONLY time Karyn ever refused to eat ham.
