    Word reached here today of the death in New Orleans of Mr. Green Skipwith, for many years a honored resident of Hinds county, and well known in Jackson and vicinity. Mr. Skipwith died in New Orleans after a short illness. The body will reach here at 10:30 o’clock tonight over the Illinois Central.

    Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon followed by interment at Greenwood cemetery. Full details of funeral arrangements have not been perfected at this hour. The deceased was a Confederate soldier, serving in Ratliff’s Battery, Withers’ Light Artillery. He is survived by a wife and one son.

    The body of N. G. Skipwith arrived in Jackson last night from New Orleans, and was met at the depot by a number of old-time friends, who accompanied the remains to the Episcopal church, where they remained until this afternoon, where they were borne to the cemetery by his war comrades of half a century ago.
