    Nathaniel Cutler [#9], s/o Nathaniel Cutler and 1st wife Mary ---, b. Reading 12 Mar 1659, d. 7 Jun 1714, m. (1) 24 May 1700 Elizabeth Underwood, m. (2) [sic, see following comments] 21 Feb 1709 Elizabeth Haines. His widow m. (2) 24 Feb 1718 Theophilus Clark of Medway.
[Note: the second marriage is an error. The recorded marriage says Nathaniel, Sr., which is his father, who was still alive, and who had a wife Elizabeth that d. 1714. His first wife Mary, d. 1707-8, which meshes well with the marriage to Elizabeth Haines in 1708-9. There is no death record for the wife of the younger Nathaniel to make us think he was available to be the groom. See also, e.g., Source:Brainerd, Dwight. Ancestry of Thomas Chalmers Brainerd, p. 98. This Nathaniel only had one wife and she was the mother of all his children. (Ironically this error is compounded by Burke's Distinguished Families of America, who, struggling to identify the purported 2nd wife of Nathaniel Jr., settles on the daughter of Jonathan of Haverhill. This is presumably based on the only child of the purported 2nd wife being named Jonathan. However, that Elizabeth Haines was born 1696-7, and would have been 12 at the time of the purported marriage in 1708-9.)]
