  3.   Posted on this page "FROM CUTLER MEMORIAL BY NAHUM CUTLER (GREENFIELD MASS P325)" apparently to justify the identify of the wife Mary. However, this source is vague, at best, and possibly self-contradictory, at worse. On p. 326, Mary Cutler, d/o Thomas, b. 1698, m. Samuel Harding of Boston. This is right after this source states that her cousin Mary Cutler, d/o Nathaniel, b. 1701, m. in Boston 1722 Samuel Harding. Both couples proceed to have children named Samuel and Mary, so the couples are distinct, one residing in Medway, the other in Boston. No explanatory text is found that explains how these couples were sorted out. It appears the Medway couple had children as early as 1723, while the Boston couple have their first known child in 1726. So, non-intuitively, perhaps the Medway couple was the one married in Boston in 1722? A statement that appears to refer to Samuel Harding says, "He and his son Nathaniel were guardians of the three youngest children.", mentions no year, nor whose estate this was for, nor which children. Samuel and Mary of Medway had a son Nathan (not Nathaniel) b. 1731, but given the deaths of the various people involved, this passage appears to refer Nathaniel Harding Sr.'s son Nathaniel Jr., who along with Samuel Harding were guardians for Nathaniel Harding Sr.'s three youngest children. Whichever Samuel Harding was guardian (of Medway or of Boston?), it would appear to be the one who married the daughter of Nathaniel. But this source does not really give us enough information to be sure. It does not mention what appears to be the best piece of evidence: the age at death.
