    A large funeral cortege followed the remains of Nathaniel Chestnut, a native of Alabama, and a resident of Algiers for the last twenty-five years. The deceased was an excempt member of Brooklyn Fire Co. No. 2 ? the Ship Carpenters and Joiners Association and Crescent Lodge No. 3 ? K of ? and the associations attended the funeral procession, with a large delegation of ladies and gentleman, to the Freemen's Cemetery, were the burial service were conducted by Mr. Lea J. Burton, C.C. and C.A. Borden, prelate, in a solemn and impressive manner and according to the Pythian ritual. The deceased was a good citizen and a warm hearted friend , who leaves a large family to mourn for him.
