Nathaniel Bunch enlisted in the War of 1812 at the age of 19, volunteering in Overton County for three months, but served only four months. He lived in Overton then Grainger County until 1841, when the family moved to Arkansas, where he was granted 80 acres of bounty land in Newton County.[1]
