JACKSON, Nannie, 85, West Virginia died 18 Mar 1948, bur. IOOF Bedford, b. 24 May 1862, eldest d/o late Dr. J. T. and Sarah Gatewood Bryan at the Bryan homeplace north of Bedford. She taught school in Trimble and Carroll Co. before her m. 7 Nov 1888 to VACHEL A. JACKSON who died 1916. 2 dau. Miss Carrie A. Jackson and Mrs. Mary J. Hood. Surv. by dau. a brother, L. A. Bryan. In 1922 she moved with her daughter to WV.

Note: on the 1850 Carroll Co. census there is a Nancy A. Bryan 77 yrs old born in Virginia living next household to Vachel Jackson and his family. Nancy is living with Alex and Elizabeth Dunn. I wonder if perhaps Vachel's wife Nannie is a descendant of this Nancy who was living next to his childhoon home.
