1882 Jan. 2, Sixteen Mile Stand, Hamilton Co., OH. Ada Wyckoff Hopkins wrote her cousin Jane Love: "Nancy Thompson and her husband and Mary Ferris and her son Albanus visited us this fall. . . . Mary and Nancy told us that they heard you had moved off of the farm but could not tell where you had gone / they said they had written to you but recieved no answer. . . . We have not heard from Griffin for a year now. Mary Nancy nor Brown had not heard from him indeed knew nothing of any of uncle Isaiahs familly"

1897 Dec. 23, Mason, Warren Co., OH. Ada Wyckoff Hopkins wrote her cousin Lillice Jones Harper: "Have they written to you that Levi [son of Jonathan C. Jones] is dead. I had a letter from Nancy [Nancy Jones Thompson] / I think she said he was buried the 14th of this month. So they do leave us one by one."
