The first mention we have found of Nancy is in 1845 she is mentioned when her husband, John, sold some property to James Hurley. She is mentioned along with her children Daniel and Margaret. 

    In the 1847 mortality records in Alabama in the New Orleans library was listed Mrs. Hurley, 35, Ireland, September 27 interment, yellow fever, city hospital; ref. Mobile Advertiser Weekly, p 4, col 5.
