From Gerald McLaughlin:

1. Hugh McLaughlin (d. June 5, 1798) that married Nancy Gwinn August 18, 1789 Had at least one child Jane that married a Kirkpatrick and claimed a land bounty. Nancy was also Agness. After he died she married James Wiley. Letter from Archives in attached is about all I know. He could have been Hugh bound out in Chalkley: (329) Hugh McGlaughlin, orphan of Hugh McGaughlin, aged 14, to be bound to John Hogshead, he teaching him the trade of a currier, farmer and shoemaker. His estate consisted of “taylor tools and tools for dressing skins” per Jean Brun’s “Abstracts of the wills and inventories of Bath County, Virginia, 1791-1842, Books 1-4”.

In 1790, there was a Hugh Sr. and Jr. in Augusta Co. (before Bath County formed?). Attached 1790 tax list.
