    In the 1850 Federal Census of Subdivision 23, McMinn, Tennessee, we find Nancy apparently still living on her own, and next to her son James Lowry. The census taker mistakenly made his wife and kids a new household as well, so perhaps Nancy was actually there with him in his home. There are many Lowry households enumerated near them so the family was obviously large in that area at that time.
