NOT to be confused with two other un-related John Davises:

1. John Davis, born 16 Dec 1749 in Rutland, Worcester County, Massachusetts the son of Nathan Davis (1708-1783) and Ellen Hubbard (b. 1718), who married Margaret ______, and they had nine children born between 1781-1796 in Gilsum, Cheshire, New Hampshire. Some secondary sites including Find-a-Grave has this error, and the Find-A-Grave contributor has refused to correct the Memorial.

2. Pvt. John Davis of Washington County, Tennessee [d. July 1794 in Washington Co., TN] who received a Revolutionary War Land Warrant/Survey Order in 1784 for 640 acres, which was re-issued on 16 December 1796 to "The Heirs of John Davis" after he died. This Land Survey Order could NOT have been for this John Davis since he was still alive until abt. October 1798 when his probate was recorded in Jefferson County, Tennessee records.
