He may be the 72-year-old, Bavarian-born Nafthali Hirsch who sailed on the Luisa and arrived at the port of New York in 1878. His daughters had preceded him, with 20-year-old Caroline and 19-year-old Sarah arriving 11 August 1854 aboard the Schiller.
