NEWELL, Myrtle, age 89, of Bellingham, passed away Friday, May 27, 1994 in Bellingham. Born Jan. 21, 1905 in Chimney Rock, Wisconsin to John and Ellen Rudy. A resident of Bellingham since 1926, charter member of Birchwood Presbyterian Church & Church Women's Assoc. and Circle; active with the Bellingham Senior Citizens Center and the Y's Buys. Retired from Woolworth Co. as a sales clerk after 26 years. Preceded in death by husbands James McCann in Nov. 1941, Artur L. Newell in Jan. 1987 and son Gene V. McCann in Dec. 1991. Survived by her daughter & husband Russell Hanks of Bellingham, step-son Gary & wife Carol Newell of Custer, 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, brother Norman & wife Elvera Rudy of Bellingham, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral service will be Tuesday May 31, 1993 11:00 a.m. at Greenacres Chapel with Rev. J. Timothy Lann officiating. Burial Greenacres Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Birchwood Presbyterian Church.
