COX COX It is with profound sadness that the family advises the passing of Murray Ross Cox, 81, resident of Agincourt, at Centenary Hospital in Scarborough, Ontario Good Friday, March 21, 2008 at 5:15 am, beloved husband to Donna Marie, whom would have been celebrating their 59th Wedding Anniversary for this June 2008, brother to Norma Moore, and father to Heather Louise plus Philip Murray (Lia). A funeral service will be held at Knox United church, 2569 Midland Avenue, Scarborough (Sheppard Ave, East/Midland ave. N.E. corner) for Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at 1:30pm with visitation and respects commencing at noon, immediately followed by a Celebration of his life for friends plus visitors. Interment will be at the cemetery at St. Johns' Anglican church in Aughrim, Ontario the following day for relatives and friends attending nearer to his birthplace at 1:00pm immediately followed by a reception/celebration of his life at the St. John's Hall in Aughrim. Murray was born in Euphemia Township on April 7, 1926 and eventually resided in Thamesville after leaving the family farm of Father Orville and Mother Edna, where he began a teaching career, and then subsequently founded Cox Coal Company after marrying Donna in 1949, moved to Windsor, Ontario in 1960 to further his teaching career, and then moving to Don Mills, Ontario in 1963 for teaching positions in Leaside/East York. He retired as Principal of Crescent Town School in 1987, and then enjoyed traveling to Alaska with Donna and Heather, Europe from time to time, plus Australia and New Zealand with additional trips across Canada/USA. Murray was known by his friends and family as a true gentleman, elegant in bearing, a mentor, respected for his integrity, a loving husband and father, photography being his major hobby, an active member of Don Mills United Church plus thereafter Knox United Church in Agincourt and will be sorely missed by all whom knew him. The family wishes to particularly acknowledge and thank Shalimar plus Judy with their daily combined care giving assistance to Murray. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent directly to Knox United Church and/or the charity of your choice.
