Munden D. Shoemaker, 73, of 1107 West Gibson Ave., South Connellsville, died at 9:15 p.m.Tuesday in the Uniontown Hospital, where he had been a patient since March13. He was born March 4, 1888 (sic - s/b1899), the son of the late Grant and Etta Schrock Shoemaker. He had lived in this area all his life and was a carpenter. He was a member of the District Council of Carpenters Local 321 and of the LOO Moose, Connellsville.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Emma Shoemaker; a son, James, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Norma Knight of South Connellsville; a step-daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Monica) Burkholder of Star Junction; a step-son, Jack O'Brien of North Ridge, Calif.; 15 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
He was predeceased by a sister, Hazel.
