Duannah died after May 16, 1829 in Fauquier, Virginia. Improvimis, I recommend my soul into the hands of almight God who give it and hope through the merits of my Saviour the blessed Jesus Christ to receive free pardon for all my past sins, and my body I commit to the earth to be buried in a descent Christian manner at the discretion of my executors herein after named, and as toughing what earthly estate it hath please God to bless me with. I dispose of it in manner and form following vis: Item, My will and desire is that my beloved wife Duanna have one third part of my estate both real and personal during life and at her decease to return to my children herein after mention to be equally divided amongst them. Item, I give to my sonMoses ten pounds so soon as it can be collected out of the money arising from my estate. Item, I give to my daughter Molly ten pounds so soon as it can be collected out of money arising from my estate. Item, I give to my son Daniel ten pounds so soon as it can be collected out of money arising from my estate. Item, it is my will and desire that the residue of my estate that is heretofore given to be equally divided amongst my children namely, Hannah Boggess, David Johnston, Nimrod Johnston, Susanna Waddle, John Johnston, Moses Johnston, Margaret McMekin, Charlotte JOHNSON, Daniel Johnson, and Molly Johnson. Item, I appoint my trusty friends Amynta Bailey and Simon Cornwall, executors of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former will and testaments heretofore made ratifying and confirming this only, I am witness wereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal. 37 xi. Charlotte Johnson was born in Fauquier, Va November 26, 1786. Charlotte died May 1, 1877 in Fauquier, Va, at 90 years of age. She married John Burgess in Fauquier, Va, November 12, 1805. John was born in Prince William, Virginia June 11, 1771. He was the son of Edward Burgess and Sarah "Sally" Price. John died December 12, 1855 in Fauquier, Virginia, at 84 years of age. (See John Burgess for the continuation of this line.) Notes of Michael Burgess page 272 Charlotte Burgess Johnston is named as a child of Moses Johns(t)on in his will (Fauquier Co. WB #3, p. 439, dated 16 Jun 1803), which also mentions children: Moses Jr.; David; Daniel; Nimrod; John; Mary; Hannah Boggess; Sussanna Waddle; Margaret McMeekin. A subsequent guardianship proceeding (24 Oct 1803) assigns Dianna Johnson (sic) control of Charlotte, Daniel and Mary Johnson, orphans of Moses Johnson. Duannah's will (WB #7, p. 182, dated 16 May 1839, proven 25 Mar 1830, mentions Marshall K. Newhouse, son of her daughter Mary (who married Zebulon Newhouse), and Mary Bray, "now wife of Timothy Bray," John Burgess witnesses this will. The birth dates of John's children are taken from his family Bible record. There are a large number of cousin marriages recorded in this family, and many twin births.
