Obituary, Lafayette Journal & Courier, Sep 1923: ______ _______ _____ Yard of Home Moses H. Harris, Former Contractor, Expires Without Warning: Resident of City for Years Moses H. Harris, 75 years old, long a resident of this city, dropped dead in the rear yard of his home, 630 South Fifteenth Street, at 7:15 o'clock Saturday morning. Death was due to heart trouble from which he had been suffering for the past six weeks. Mr. Harris ate a hearty supper Friday evening and appeared in his usual health Saturday morning. Shortly after arising he walked to the barn and death overtook him as he was returning to the house.

The deceased ws born in Ohio, May 14, 1848, but had been a resident of this city the greater part of his life. He was a building contractor but retired from active work about six years ago. Following the death of his first wife, he married Mrs. Mary Lucas, of this city, March 20, 1907. Besides the widow, he is survived by the following children: Mrs. Edna Morse, Richmond IN, Mrs. Mildred McLaughlin, Columbus OH, Miss Esther Harris, Saratoga IN, Chester Harris, Saratoga IN, and Mrs. Charles Fairchild, of South Eighteenth Street.
