Facts and Events
Moses was a pioneer in Indiana, a hard worker and by his labors he acquired property which he gave to his children; he was interested in education and helped the community with schools and churches.

In the name of the Benevolent Father of All. I Moses Brandenburg do make and publish this my last will and testament. Item 1st: I direct my Executors hereinafter named to pay out of my Estate as soon as possible after my decease all my just debts together with the Expense of all my last sickness and my funeral and testamentary expenses. Item 2nd: I give and bequeth to my wife Mary Brandenburg the following Real estate in Huntington Co. and State of Indiana towit: Commencing eighteen chains and fifty links South of the North west corner of the South east quarter of Section ten (10) in township twenty nine (29) north range nine (9) Fast thence Fast twenty chains and thirty six links (20/36) thence South twenty one chains and fifty links (21/50) thence west twenty chains and thirty six links (20/36) thence north twenty one chains and eighty two links (21/82) to the place of beginning. Containing forty four and nine hundredth acres (44/9/100) more or less. Also five hundred dollars to be received by her. Also One horse and buggy her choice Also One milch cow her choice, Also one brood sow Feed and Har for one year and all the poultry which is on the place, also the household furniture and books that she wants also one years provisions to be received by her in lieu of dower and in full of all claim out of my estate. Item 3rd: I give and devise unto my daughter Leatha A. Brandenburg, Five Hundred Dollars more than an equal share with the other heirs which is to be equal except one. Henry E Brandenburg my son Equal share. Samuel E Brandenburg my son equal share. John W Brandenburg my son equal share, Grant Brandenburg my son equal share, Dorothea Brandenburg my daughter equal share whose name is now Dorothea A. Piney. Ellen Gossman my daughter who has deceased an equal share which is to be divided equally between her children which are Maggie Gossman and Edward Gossman. Joseph S Brandenburg equal share except one hundred and Forty Dollars which I consider he already has In testimony hereof I have set my hand and Seal this 18th day of November 1891 Moses Brandenburg {seal} Signed and acknowledged by said Moses Brandenburg as his last will and testament in our presence and signed by us in his presence. The State of Indiana Huntington County S S:
Be it remembered, that on the 29th day of February 1892 George Farmer and David Barsh the subscribing witnesses to the within and foregooing last will and Testament of Moses Brandenburg late of said County deceased personally appeared before A A Weber Clerk of the Circuit Court of Huntington County in State of Indiana and being duly sworn by the clerk of said Court upon their oaths declared and testified as follows, that is to say: That on the 18th day of November 1891 they saw the said Moses Brandenburg sign his name to said instrument in writing as and for his last Will and Testament and that these deponents at the same time heard the said Moses Brandenburg declare the said instrument in writing to be his last Will and Testament and at the same time at the request of the said Moses Brandenburg and with his consent attested and subscribed by the said George Farmer and David Barsh in the presence of each other as subscribing witnesses hereto and that the said Moses Brandenburg was at the time of the signing and subscribing of said instrument in writing as aforesaid of full age (that is more than twenty one years of age) and of sound and disposing mind and memory and not under any coercion or restraint as the said deponent verily believes George Farmer David Barsh

State of Indiana Huntington County S S: I, A A Weber Clerk of the Circuit Court of Huntington Co, Indiana do hereby certify that the within annexed Will and Testament of Moses Brandenburg has been duly admitted to probate and duly proved by the testimony of George Farmer and David Barsh the subscribing witnesses thereto that a complete record of said will and of the testimony of the said George Farmer and David Barsh in proof thereof has been by me duly made and recorded in Book 'D' at Pages 35, 36 and 37 of the Record of Wills of said County. In attestation whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed the seal of said Court at Huntington this 29th day of February 1892. A A Weber Clerk Circuit Court Huntington County
State of Indiana Huntington County S S: I, Anthony A Weber Clerk Circuit Court in and for said County and State hereby certify that the within and foregoing to be a true correct and complete copy of the Last Will and Testament of Moses Brandenburg and the Proof in Probate as the same appears of record and on file in my offoce.
