Morten Christensen was the father of Kirsten Mortensen. His parents were Christen Jensen and Ane Jacobsdatter. Christen Jensen was born in 1790. According to Danish customs of reversing the last name, his father's first name was probably Jens. In about 1822 -24 he married Ane Jacobsdatter. She was also born in 1790. Her father's first name was probably Jacob. Their first son, Morten Christensen, was born in 1824, when they were 34 years old. Their second son, Hans Christensen, was born in 1830. In 1840, according to the crew list, Christen Jensen and his wife Ane Jacobsdatter and their sons, Morten, and Hans, lived in Gjorslev Sogn, Praesto Amt. Denmark. In 1824, they lived in Haraldsted, Soro Amt, where Morten was born. Karen Olsdatter's parents were Ole Jorgensen and Ane Sophie Hansdatter. Ole Jorgensen was probably born in the 1780's. His father's first name was probably Jorgen. He married Ane Sophie Hansdatter. She was born in Hosten, Dalby Sogn. Her father's first name was probably Hans. They were married in 1815 or so as she was 29 years old when their first child was born. They named their daughter, Karen Olsdatter, and she was born on March 24, 1817 in Dalby. She was baptized on April 20, 1817 according to the Dalby Church Register. In about 1847, Karen Olsdatter and Morten Christensen were married. He was 24 years old and she was 31 years old. Karen's son, Ole Jensen, was about 4 years old. Morten and Karen lived in 1855 in Skrodsbjerg, Vraaby Sogn, Praesto Amt. Karen's 67 - year - old mother, And Sophie Hansdatter, Lived with them.
