[edit] OBITMadisonville Messenger Monday March 17, 1975 Madisonville, Hopkins, Kentucky USA Mrs. Minnie Short Ellis 88, of 629 East Center Street, Madisonville, died at 9:30 p.m. Friday in Hopkins County Hospital. She was a member of Madisonville First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, born in Hopkins County, September 25, 1886, the daughter of the late Nichols and Margaret Wheeler Croxton. Her husband, Jacob Short, died in 1938. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs Grace S. Phillips, 629 East Center St, and Mrs Lois Brown 131 Highland Ave., both in Madisonville, Two Sons, WilliamII. Short, Route 3, Madisonville, and Felix A Short 629 East Center Street; a half-sister, Mrs. Mattie Hendrix (Hendricks), Route 3, Madisonville, and three half-brothers, Ed and Holbert Croxton, both of Madisonville, and Herschel Croxton, Butler County(he lived in Muhlenberg County); a stepson Ernest Short, Central City, 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at Harris Funeral Chalpel at 2 p.m. today by the Rev. Bennie Wood, Pastor of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Burial was in Cumberland Presyterian Cemetery in Sacramento, Ky. Image Gallery
