Obituary
Sister Minerva I. Estes went home to God on the night of January 17, 1901. She was born August 31, 1837; married in 1848. Her husband died in the civil war in 1864. She was the mother of 6 children, four of which are still living. Besides her own, she has raised three orphan children. She joined the Baptist church in 1855, and was a consecrated Christian, full of "good works" for her Master.
She suffered from cancer for many years and was confined to her room for over two years. She bore her sufferings with great fortitude, praying for the Lord to take her home, if it was his will.
The funeral was conducted by the writer, at the conclusion of which "Grandma" Estes was consigned to the silent grave.
May the Lord bless the bereft ones left behind.
