"Millie and her twin Mabel grew up living between the SDB Church and the Goodrich House in Milton. My father died when I was 3. My mother remarried a few years later. She married Dwight R. Loofboro, son of Elmer Loofboro. Elmer was an older brother of Erlo. When I was about 12 I remember going and raking leaves at Erlo's place along the river in Indian ford.", Roy Whitford.

    BELOIT - Millie O. Skallerud, 74, 2300 Pioneer Drive, died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 1989 in her home. Millie was born April 12, 1915 in Clear Lake, IA, the daughter of Martin and Olena Borseth Gulbrandsen. She married Roy Clyde Whitford in 1936 in Janesville. He died in May 19[44. She was married to Dwight Loofboro from Sept. 1951 to his death in May 19]73. On September 10, 1983 she married Perry Skallerud in Janesville. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Beloit, and a former member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Janesville. She was very active with the Janesville Senior Citizens, its dance class and the harmonica band. In 1950 she was named "Mrs. Janesville Homemaker". She had worked at the Woolworth Store and Hough Shades for a number of years.
    Surviving are her husband, Perry; a son, Roy (Mary Jo) Whitford of Janesville; a daughter, Betty (Leland) McKnight of Wisconsin Dells, WI; 3 step-sons, Sidney Loofboro of Scottsdale, AZ, Ronald (Donna) Skallerud of Muskego, WI and Glenn (Shirley) Skallerud of Janesville; 4 step-daughters: Maxine Timmer of Walworth, WI, Joy (Charles) Glover of North Aurora, IL, Virginia (Robert) Hay of Sparks, NV and Pam Middleton of Milton. She was predeceased by her parents; a twin sister, Mabel (Suter) Stibbe; a son-in-law, David Ast; 3 sisters; 1 brother.
    Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday in Trinity Lutheran Church, Beloit, with the Rev. Jerald Erdman officiating. Burial will be Monday in Milton Lawns Cemetery, Janesville. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until service time Sunday in the church. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church. Arrangements were made by the Schoenfeld Funeral Home, Beloit.
