ROCKFORD, IL/MILTON? Mildred M. Milly Hughes, 91, of Rockford, IL, died Saturday evening, July 9, 2005, in her residence. She was born on April 22, 1914, in Milton, WI, the daughter of R. Loyal and Rena M. (Greene) Hull. She graduated from Milton Union High School and Rock County Normal Janesville Teachers College and lived 56 years in the Rockford and Loves Park area. Milly was employed as a teacher in Rock County and later was a substitute teacher in the Harlem School District. She married James Hughes on July 28, 1935, in Milton; he died on April 27, 1991. She was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church, North Suburban Women?s Club and the Loves Park Unit Winnebago County Home Extension. Milly enjoyed all forms of music and later became a fan of Charlotte?s Web Concerts. She dearly loved children?just ask her former students or neighborhood kids for whom she was candy lady . Survivors include a daughter, Karen (Claude) Ingrassia of Rockford; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers: Harold, Ronald, Kenneth and Wayne. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 14, 2005, in BETHANY Presbyterian Church , with the Rev. Peder Carlson officiating. Burial will be in Scandinavian Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, in Delehanty Funeral Home Ltd .
